Thread Ressurection

One of the features I've enjoyed on the forum after it became Studio Arcanis is the "similar topics" selections at the bottom of the page. It makes me wonder, though, how everyone feels about reigniting one of those that is several months to a few years old. Is it proper etiquette to start a new conversation on the same topic that exists from 2010 or is it better to add comments to the thread that is five years old?
