Re: Headless Rite: an Invitation to the Members of Studio Arcanis

These are some fantastic points, and I would add to them that emotional crossroads are a kind of subtle, elemental crossroads between the mind and heart. Recognizing this space and working within it with the appropriate spirits, presences, attending assistants and so forth often populates that spac...

Re: Headless Rite: an Invitation to the Members of Studio Arcanis

Not sure anyone else would benefit from this discussion but seeing as how I follow more of a shamanic like pathway I always found other crossroads that I tended to use in my workings. Most often simply discovered on the landscape as I explored or honestly just happened to be in the right spot at the...

Re: Headless Rite: an Invitation to the Members of Studio Arcanis

Where I think people might get confused is in the T shaped crossroad. A 'T' crossroads is really no different than a 'Y' crossroads only its three angles come together at a different degree, nothing more. The spirits don't care about that because they consider both 'Y & T' crossroads to be male...

Re: Headless Rite: an Invitation to the Members of Studio Arcanis

Not that great of a drawing to be honest but it works for me. Has all the elements of her presence. The "Y" crossroads, The serpent, the Dice, The Keys, the twin torches (long torches), 2 daggers, the spheres of Earth, Ocean, Heavens (Birds). Really? "Y" or three way crossroads?...

Re: Is there another creature that should be sacred to Hekate?

"Thomas Tomorrow"]Our disagreement is minor. You suggest the butterfly is sacred to Hecate because: 1) the butterfly symbolizes the soul; 2) it goes through distinct stages of development; and 3) the goddess rules over transformation/magic. As far as I am aware, there is no mythological/h...

Re: Is there another creature that should be sacred to Hekate?

="Thomas Tomorrow"] I disagree the butterfly is a creature specific to Hecate. Yes, the Goddess rules over transformation and all creatures undergo transformation. To the uninitiated, this only says Hecate’s dominion is far-reaching or governs all directions. Or all creatures belong to He...

Is there another creature that should be sacred to Hekate?

I'm submitting this thread in the hopes that other's might read over my thoughts and ponderings. Tell me if my logic makes sense and my conclusions seem legitimate. I've placed it in this forum as it pertains to Hekate and is heavily influenced by Hellen concepts and practices. I look forward to any...

Re: A list of reference material for Hekate research.

:goodpost I hadn't considered it reached as far as the Rape of Persephone myth, but now you mention it I can absolutely see it. I will have to go back and read it again in this context. And I agree, Kali is most definitely a form of Durga, and working with her you find that quite apparent. And a lo...

Re: A list of reference material for Hekate research.

I think it's there but I think it's hidden. But I also think people focus upon Kali and forget that Kali is paired with Durga so tend to ignore the complexity of that relationship and how it influences things. Kali couldn't truly be brought back without bringing Durga back to keep the balance that t...

Re: A list of reference material for Hekate research.

This item is not specifically a "Reference" item as much as a curiosity item. I'm presenting it simply to make people aware of it as both an artistic piece and a historical item that deals with Hekate. I have a copy of the card (the one I have attached) but the back is not in great shape. ...
