Re: PGM IV 154-285: Initiation with Typhon for Bowl Divination

I'm very excited Loagaeth that you are going to give this rite a shot. Looking forward to seeing how this thread evolves. Regarding the ivy, I just selected a vine section of hedera helix with darker leaves. As with most plants darker leaves result from less exposure to sun, so look for vine segment...

Re: The infamous PGM

This topic is straying…. [ You can trace every single ritual in the PGM back to Zoroaster and then further back to Vedic Agnihotra Priesthood. Show the evidence if such a broad statement is going to be made. I don’t doubt that you will find some instances of ritual similarities (where or when they o...

The infamous PGM

The PGM is a collection of spells and techniques from all over the Hellenic world that was compiled and kept in one personal library in Thebes (Egypt)...it's not a rehash of anything as it was simply a compilation of magical material with no overarching religious or philosophical paradigm. We need ...

Re: Pronunciation of Words of Power

Yes and no. While intent is essential, the proper pronunciation of a word of power, a mantra or the voces magicae of the PGM is an acoustic formula that resonates with the spirit world. Like the beat of a drum it literally affects the environment and charges the air around the practitioner.

Re: Greek Magical Papyrus - great blog

I don’t think there is a way to reconcile the geometries of the planets in their sidereal and synodic cycles with any of the other traditional planetary orders. I think this is because we are looking at entirely different manifestations of the planetary principles. The order generally accepted in Ka...

Re: Greek Magical Papyrus - great blog

@leonardo, ive been reading your blog, good stuff! you ever consider writing an article concerning the geometric symbols related to the sephiroth, and the symbols created by planets orbits, and how they relate? i would also be really interested in your take on the differences between the western an...

Re: Nine-formed God PGM XIII

Good question. The ‘εννεάμορφος is mentioned only in PGM XIII which makes me think he might have something to do with the Graeco-Egyptian concept of Aion since this papyrus is heavily focused on this deity as the representation of the singular godhead. I believe this text is heavily influenced by py...

No, that is definitely a typo. Thank you for pointing that out, it should say Nun not Lamed.

Re: Greek Magical Papyrus - great blog

@leonardo_drakon in the planetary squares section why do you attribute lamed to 50, in the zohar it is attributed to 30? That must be a mistake, nun is 50, lamed is 30. Could you point me to the square where you see this error? Are you by chance misreading the sum of Nachiel? I’m maintaing the orde...
