Spirits that can take the form of the deceased?

This is an area that I know little about. I’m not asking how but rather who spirit wise is excellent in this area? Like say you wanted to send someone a message from a deceased relative in a dream or otherwise. Are there spirits that can appear to be that relative? Or should one rather try to summon the spirit of the deceased person and send them? All help is greatly appreciated!
