The similarities between different Divine Beings

I thought I would start a thread for people to post the similarities between supposed seperate divine beings and mythical personages and even different spirits, so that others can see how these Being's traits, stories and influences can seem to crop up accross different cultures worldwide, that may suggest a Universality to there meanings and attributes.

I will start off with an obvious one. Jesus Christ and Horus. They were both an only beggotton son of a god, their foster fathers names were very similar sounding, Seb (Jo-seph) = Horus and Joseph = Jesus. Birth dates were both cellebrated around the winter solstice within a few days of each other. Both births were heralded by a star, both had a very similar title, KRST for Horus and Christ for Jesus and both were the son of a virgin.

Here is a link that shows some more similarities= http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_jcpa5.htm

Please feel free to add to this and even start your own new ones.
