Air vs fire

Because at one point I had to persuade someone over the net to do me a favor, which I used fire element, but as I understand it affects the item is not the person, but more me and my charisma.
By air element as more tied to intellect, does that mean that it can be used to alter a person thoughts or make them to forget?
