Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses and Hoodoo

I've read the Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses and am actually in the process of re-reading it. I know it has a strong connection to hoodoo in that the book is frequently referred to in hoodoo circles, however, I see no relation to the book and Hoodoo nor do I see any means to practical application between the two. If anyone has used the book in connection to Hoodoo without necessarily giving away any spells or anything like that can you shed light on how the book is used as it relates to Hoodoo? I can more see someone in Santeria using this book in say conjunction with candles or something because Santeria is a religion and the book is obviously a religious one. Hoodoo however is not a religion so I am curious as to how it is used. Thanks in advance for any responses!
