The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

This is a well written fantasy novel about a boy who grows to become a powerful Wizard.
It has a well developed magic system, and is focused around the main character's adventures at a magic university as well as off around the Kingdoms he lives in.
If you are looking for a grown-up, darker Harry Potter magical university story this is a great mix between high fantasy and gritty dark fantasy.
Some of the characterisations of women are terrible though.
It has received critical acclaim by fantasy genre critics, and is probably some of the best fantasy to come out in the 2010's.
