Seeking Faust by Dale Pendell, Review

I am a fan of poetry, and Seeking Faust by Dale Pendell is a good attempt at it. The plot concerns itself with the creation of a feminine-serpent homunculus, which seems more in line with a succubus than anything.

I originally bought it because it was supposed to deal with alchemy (whereas, apparently, Faust deals with necromancy). There are some alchemical themes, but for me it was much less than I expected.

What was most interesting, I was compelled to read the book out loud (I like reading poetry out loud), and at one point I distinctly remember feeling the book begin to charge itself. At the climax of the 'operation' there appeared on the pages the face of the Homunculus, smiling mischievously.

Curious if anyone else has had a similar experience, or has read this book at all.
We really must free ourselves from the seduction of words
